The hotel where the cozy Hotel Sigulda Restaurant is located was built in 1890, after the opening of the significant Riga–Saint Petersburg railway line. At that time, the owner of Hotel Sigulda was Duke Nikolai Kropotkin, who often welcomed visitors from Saint Petersburg in his refined hotel, located in the very heart of the city. It was thanks to the duke’s good taste that the mysterious natural wonders of Sigulda became such a popular leisure place among travelers.
