Ligatne Nature Trails were established in 1975 with the aim of familiarizing visitors with the nature of Latvia, the local plant and animal kingdom, species of wild mammals, biodiversity and protection of nature.

In Ligatne Nature Trails, you can see animals of different wildlife species, intact nature landscapes, you can hear sounds of forests and meadows, and you can watch the Gauja river surrounded by gorges and ravines and its old valley, as well as enjoy active recreation and wonderful peace.
Walking trails are 4 - 5 km long, with various levels of difficulty. It takes 2 - 3 hours on average to visit Ligatne Nature Trails. Reaching it with public transport is inconvenient.
Ligatne Nature Trails are open to visitors all year round!
Ligatne Nature Trails Information centre offers:
- information about nature trail animals and their feeding times;
- information about various excursions, walking tours and tourism routes;
- information about nearest catering places and lodging possibilities;
- information about guided tours;
- to buy various souvenirs, postcards, itineraries and maps, as well as snacks and beverages.
When visiting Ligatne Nature Trails, please note that pets are not allowed on the territory and animal feeding is prohibited! Animals get a balanced diet and supplementary products damage their health!
Also, remember about the weather conditions, wear hiking shoes and clothes suitable for walks in nature!
Dog walking, also on a leash, is not allowed in Ligatne Nature Trails.
