Apparently, after the divorce, the house was left to the wife, because also Minister Munters himself spent here summers. The locals remember how the minister ran in the shorts to swim in the Gauja river and was surprised by the courage of the highly ranked person during those times.
Munters' wife Natālija was the daughter of Prince Kropotkin's babysitter. For a lifelong service, the prince has given the babysitter a summer cottage in Sigulda. In 1940, Munters and his wife Natālija were arrested in Sigulda, in the garden of their home during their vacation. The arrest was conducted by the Home Affairs Commissioner Vilis Lācis.
