Livonian order Sigulda castle is not only recognized as a historic sightseeing attraction for tourists but also as a significant venue for concerts and events.

Every year various concerts and festivals take place in Sigulda castle ruins.

Particularly noteworthy is the International Sigulda Opera Music Festival organized by Dainis Kalns, when the Sigulda castle ruins' stage becomes a luxurious framework for an outstanding musical event, with the opportunity to hear both Latvian and world-renowned opera singers. Sigulda International Opera Festival has been going on for more than 25 years.

In summer 2016, the Irish singer Damien Rice and the British rock band "James" performed at Sigulda castle ruins.

In the summer of 2017, visitors were delighted by world-class star concerts - New Zealand's "The Naked and Famous", singer Jessie Ware, and the popular British band "The xx", as well as the local group "The Sound Poets".

In 2018, the world music industry grands such as the band's A-ha, The Dire Straits, rock star Zucchero, singers Laura Pergolici (LP) and Rita Ora, as well as one of Latvia's most famous groups - "Instruments" performed on the stage of Sigulda castle ruins.

Along with the variety of musical events in the territory of Sigulda castle ruins, the gastronomic festival "Celebrating Winter Taste" in January, which brings together the best chefs of the Riga-Gauja region, is already a tradition.

Sigulda locals like also the "Musical Breakfast" when it is possible to have a snack on Sunday mornings in July and enjoy the musical atmosphere with the castle ruins in the background.
