Ligatne Nature Trails were established in 1975 with the aim of familiarizing visitors with the nature of Latvia, the local plant and animal kingdom, species of wild mammals, biodiversity and protection of nature.
Līgatne paper mill was established in 1815 and operated until 2014. It was the oldest industrial company in Latvia, which operated for almost 200 years.

Nine meters below the ground there is a well-equipped bunker with an area of over 2,000 square meters, the secrecy seal of which was only removed in 2003.
Cecīļu Nature Trail is a hiking trail, where you can get to know Amata county nature objects along the Kumada river, Dančupīte and Amata river. The beginning of the trail is in Ieriķi, Amata county, 1km from the café, petrol station and Tourist Information Centre, which is also the centre of Cecīļi nature trail visitors, at the “Lejas Cecīļi” house.
