Silver Jewelry Workshop - Live Silver Museum
Silver Jewelry Workshop - Live Silver Museum

Thinking about a wider offer and offering not only to look at works of art but also to create them yourself, one whole organization has been created in the creative quarter of Sigulda - not only a Silver museum but also a Silver Workshop.

Considering that the museum is unimaginable without a school for acquiring silver processing skills, it was decided to supplement the Live Silver Museum with a workshop where everyone has the opportunity to apply for training, make individual orders, as well as hand over their existing jewelry for repair.

By intensively learning the technique, it is also possible to learn how to make silver jewelry within a month. Jeweler Oļegs Auzers admits that it works best for those who do not have previous experience in creating works of art, but those who do have to adapt to the particularities of a special metal.

Oļegs Auzers admits that in recent years women under the age of 50 have applied for silver jewelry making training, in total 80% of future jewelers or followers of the new hobby are women who learn the profession half as fast as men, which can be explained by women's desire for jewelry. The jeweler and philosopher say that women in this field are purposeful and know what they want, they can feel the color better, the inserting of stones, the size of earrings and rings. Men, on the other hand, are better at larger jobs that require forging, molding, and engraving, where force must be applied. Parents of newborns and brides with a groom also have the opportunity to create various memorial ornaments or heritage for future generations - a silver family tree.

Already this summer, the Live Silver Museum joined the circle of creative entrepreneurs in the Sigulda Castle quarter, providing an emotional contribution to the residents and guests of the city, as well as allowing them to look into the world of such luxurious metal like silver. At the Living Silver Museum, whose exhibitions were created by jeweler, artist, and philosopher Oļegs Auzers, everyone has the opportunity to be acquainted with the story of the origin of each work of art and get to know the various properties of silver by going on a guided tour, as well as participate in silver water tasting.

In the workshop, everyone has the opportunity to apply for training at any time of the day, by prior arrangement by phone +371  29356858.
