Turaida's cave
Turaida's cave used to be called Dainu or Slakteru cave. It is a small hole in the rock, located in Turaida, on the right bank of the Gauja river under the Turaida castle, in the middle of the slope of the Turaida castle mound.

Next to the cave, there is a niche that formed just like the cave in a small sandstone outcrop.
It is possible to access the cave by crossing the thickset slope of the castle mound, so it is advisable to choose suitable tourist footwear and clothes.
Please, remember that all caves are located in the territory of the Gauja National Park, and please respect the ancient geological nature monuments that keep the history of land formation!
